Wong Fleming represents clients in
projects involving long-term counseling in North America, South America,
Europe, Asia, and Africa. This includes onboard representation of non-U.S.
interests, representation of multi-national enterprises, or assistance to
clients outside the U.S. The firm maintains an Of Counsel relationship with
Hamburg, Germany – based Schomerus. The firm also maintains a panel of
litigation counsel in Europe. The firm
also provides strategic business advice, political and economic risk analysis,
and cultural intelligence. We conduct
international government relations activities, engaging diplomatic missions,
private sector entities and coalitions, international institutions, domestic
and international media, and Non-governmental organizations (“NGO’s”). Wong Fleming
formulates and implements strategies to penetrate foreign markets,
including international trade missions.
We identify and manage project teams of investors, public relations
professionals, government relations specialists, and professionals in foreign
markets, and identification, screening, and monitoring of international joint
venture partners.
Our experience includes
representing multinational companies before Federal authorities. Wong Fleming
attorneys have also successfully represented private clients before
multilateral entities such as the World Bank; the Inter-American Development
Bank (“IADB”); and the Asian Development
Bank (“ADB”); as well as U.S.-based development entities such as the United
States Agency for International Development (“USAID”), Ex-Im Bank and the
Overseas Private Insurance Corporation (“OPIC”). Also of note is our experience
representing clients before the International Finance Corporation (“IFC”), a
private sector arm of the World Bank, as well as the InterAmerican Investment
Corporation (“IIC”), a similarly structured organization under the auspices of
the IADB.
We also represent companies that
offer products and services to governments outside their own countries,
including matters concerning foreign military sales and the sale of products
subject to export controls. For example,
we have counseled domestic companies on sales to foreign governments and
counseled foreign corporations in their marketing to the U.S. government. In addition, we work with domestic, foreign
and state‑owned companies in commercial dealings in the United States and
abroad, particularly in the areas of oil and gas, medical equipment, and
healthcare personnel.
