About this firm

August Law is a law firm dedicated to achieving results for its clients in highly contested matters, whether in litigation or in business transactions. August Law was created, and is led by, Gary August. Since graduating cum laude from Northwestern University Law School in Chicago in 1993.

Mr. August has been handling some of the largest and most complicated lawsuits and projects the State of Michigan has seen in the last 30 years. Almost without exception, Mr. August always found a way to win for his clients and achieve his clients’ goals. His track record for being able to understand the most complicated matters, communicating clearly while advocating his clients’ positions on these issues to others, and coming away with a victory at a fair cost to his clients is what sets Mr. August apart from other attorneys. This resulted in Mr. August’s achievement of the highest rankings and honors by virtually every publication and rating service for attorneys.

Our specialty is advocacy and litigation. We earned our reputation by the results we achieved litigating the most complicated and largest lawsuits in the State. Mr. August has successfully litigated construction and development claims in the tens, if not hundreds, of millions of dollars. He has represented and litigated on behalf of the largest corporations and financial services companies in the country, including automobile OEMs and their captive and former financing arms.

Since the largest construction projects are typically done by governmental entities, Mr. August has represented countless municipalities and authorities on their largest projects. This includes airport authorities building terminals and other facilities, cities building criminal justice centers and combined sewer overflow infrastructure, governmental authorities undertaking large capital projects, and townships managing their infrastructure contracts. We litigate claims arising from accidents, property and business loss claims, and all types of insurance coverage disputes. If a matter involves a need for advocacy, August Law is the place to turn.
