Harold M. Block has been practicing law since 1971. Richard J. Bouterie, Jr. has been an attorney since 1976. Together, they established Block and Bouterie in 1987. With a location one block from the courthouse in historic downtown Thibodaux, the firm has served both local and regional businesses as well as individual clients and families in the Thibodaux and surrounding areas for almost four decades. With the addition of Michelle LeBlanc in 2004, Block and Bouterie was able to expand its legal services to its diverse clientele.
With its three experienced attorneys, each of whom concentrate in a broad range of legal matters, Block and Bouterie offers its clients a wide variety of services. Harold M. Block concentrates in contracts and contract litigation, corporate formation and litigation, wills, successions, and negligence claims. Harold Block handles trials in all courts. Real estate practice, including sales and mortgages, banking, as well as wills and successions are Richard Bouterie's primary focus.
Harold Block has been a Member and Chairman of the Louisiana Educational Television Authority and a Member and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. Harold Block has also served as the Grand Senechal of the New Orleans Chapter of the Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin (Burgundian wine organization) and currently serves the organization as Delegue General of the South. Richard Bouterie is President of Lafourche Arc.
