About this firm

Chavez-Ochoa Law Offices, Inc. represents Californians in a wide range of family, criminal and civil legal matters. We have successfully litigated several high-profile, national cases upholding Californians' and others' unalienable personal freedoms.

Involved in the community - committed to vigorous representation

Currently serving as a California National Guard Captain, Judge Advocate General (JAG) and a former fire chief in the Jenny Lind Fire District, principal Brian R. Chavez-Ochoa believes in public service. His deep Christian faith informs much of his practice, most notably his commitments to family law and to tenaciously righting criminal, civil and constitutional wrongs confronting his clients.

A general practice, with key areas of focus

Founded in 1997, Chavez-Ochoa Law Offices Inc. not only brings an extensive legal background and an established network of legal contacts but also offers an aggressive, impassioned commitment to represent the rights of our clients in such areas as:

-Family law - Contested and uncontested divorce, domestic violence, marital agreements, name changes, paternity, restraining orders, spousal support, conservatorship and guardianship are only a few of the matters we have handled in the more than 15 years since the firm was founded.

-Criminal defense - We help clients in a wide range of criminal defense cases - from misdemeanors, traffic violations and expungements to more-serious charges alleging felony, sex crimes, assault and battery and drug possession.

-Civil litigation - We represent plaintiffs and defendants in civil matters such as personal injury claims, business litigation (for example, breach of contract), property damage and insurance claims, construction litigation, consumer litigation, product defects and liability and torts.

-Religious freedom - Principal Brian R. Chavez-Ochoa has served as lead counsel for plaintiffs and defendants in cases before several U.S. District Courts, championing individuals' civil liberties and constitutional rights, foremost among which is the freedom of religion.

  • 5.0/5.0 Review for Brian R. Chavez-Ochoa by a Sole Practitioner on 11/26/14 in Family Law

Brian R. Chavez-Ochoa is one of the few attorneys within my area of practice that I have no hesitation in referring clients to with regard to complicated family law cases.

  • 2.4/5.0 Review for Brian R. Chavez-Ochoa by a Principal on 11/28/14 in Divorce

Mr. Chavez-Ochoa is not trustworthy. He says one thing and then does another. He is also a "hot-head" and not amiable to reasonable negotiation.
