About this firm

Crow & Cushing is a law firm that for thirty years has provided services to clients working in the financial services and money management industry. We work with the investment community and money managers in such macro areas as fund organization (domestic and foreign) and structure, as well as the micro day-to-day issues that concern trading entities, financial institutions and high net worth individuals. We work with managers and investors who are involved with traditional equities, but we are especially experienced in nontraditional and alternative investments such as hedge funds, private equities, physical commodities, futures and other forms of derivative investments. Among our clients are investment advisers, special purpose broker dealers, futures commission merchants, fund of fund managers, commodity pool operators, commodity trading advisors and the investment side of insurance companies.

With regard to hedge funds, we have extensive experience representing clients with different types of strategies including arbitrage (equity to statistical), outright fundamental speculators seeking an above average rate of return in diverse markets. Our clients include managers who utilize various market approaches including fundamental and technical analyses some on a long-term basis others on a high frequency basis.

Due to the specialized nature of our practice we have the opportunity to regularly work alongside larger metropolitan law firms that prefer not to dedicate the time and resources to such a narrow practice area, but wish to avail themselves of our expertise, to benefit the clients they generally service. Our specialization and years of work in the investment industry have allowed us to develop relationships with some of the founding members of the nontraditional and alternative investment community, which enables us to keep our "ear to the ground" to stay abreast of regulatory developments and industry happenings.

Our work requires us to team with accountants, bankers, and attorneys in jurisdictions worldwide, to ensure that our clients receive effective business and legal advice that is tailored to their individual needs.

Crow & Cushing is dedicated to building relationships based upon the ongoing success of the client. We seek to provide our clients with the practical advice they need to aid them in overcoming any challenge they may encounter in their business pursuits.
