Diversity

From places like Chungking, China, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Louisville, Kentucky to Caracas, Venezuela, at De Sola Pate & Brown we redefine diversity in a traditional law firm setting. Half of our senior partners are originally from the U.S., educated at top U.S. law schools, and have for over two decades been advising international clients on Venezuelan-related cross border transactions. One of our Of Counsels speaks five languages, was born in China, studied engineering in Germany, obtained his law degree in Venezuela and now counsels our clients on patent, trademark and licensing issues. Moreover, several of our associates have international backgrounds, with origins and families spread around the world or having lived in places such as Hungary, France and Brazil. At De Sola Pate & Brown we try to attract attorneys with international experience and backgrounds. We actively recruit lawyers with foreign legal training, as well as hosting international legal interns by offering summer internships to law students from around the world. Our motivation comes from our desire to offer our clients the best global business advice. Not only does the diversity of our members allow us to provide innovative and cutting edge legal counsel with a global perspective, it also generally enriches our community. Almost all of our attorneys take an interest in comparative legal matters (with over half of our members having earned Masters of Laws or other advanced degrees in Europe or the U.S.), which has allowed De Sola Pate & Brown to contribute to academic scholarship and legal dialogue in Venezuela and the region, generally.
