The attorneys of MOCC include Julie Morriss (B.S., Bio-Chemistry) who became the first female patent attorney in the state of Utah in 1990 and is recognized as one of Utah's influential patent attorneys. David O'Bryant (B.S., Electrical Engineering) has patent expertise crossing many engineering disciplines, including the diverse fields of computers, software design, networks, materials science, mass spectrometry and friction stir welding. Frank Compagni (B.S., Mechanical Engineering), worked for several years as an engineer before becoming an AV-rated IP attorney and expert witness in multiple federal court matters. Karl Cannon (B.S., Civil Engineering), also an AV-rated attorney, spent several years educating the public about intellectual property law issues in two regular newspaper columns for over a decade, and as the author of numerous articles in several different nationally distributed engineering magazines. Brett Crockett (B.S., Biology) has been in practice since 1999 after receiving his degree in Biology and Social Science (with a minor in chemistry). Ryan Gillan (B.S., Mechanical Engineering) is a former Patent Examiner in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and has earned acclaim for his success in handling difficult patent cases.
