For over 60 years, Seattle law firm Reed Longyear has served businesses, families and individuals like you in the Greater Seattle area and around Washington State. Our goal is to build long-term relationships with our clients, tailoring our legal services to your diverse needs. We pride ourselves on handling legal issues with creativity, sensitivity and foresight. We are a long-time Seattle law firm originally established in 1956 as a partnership between Lawrence Hennings, William L. Maltman, and John R. Weber as a general practice law firm.

In 1977, Fredric D. Reed became a partner and the firm was re-named as Hennings, Maltman, Weber & Reed.

In 1980, the firm relocated to the Norton Building on 2nd Avenue between Marion and Columbia, which remains our present day home. In 2001, the firm changed to its present name of Reed Longyear Malnati & Ahrens, PLLC.The next members to join the firm, in order, were Douglass A. North, Douglas W. Ahrens, Michael C. Malnati, Michael J. Longyear, Christina L. Corwin, Jason W. Burnett, Elizabeth A. Hanley, Noah K. Williams and Carla Calogero. Two former members have become judges: Douglass A. North, with King County Superior Court; and Linda Lau, who previously served on the King County Superior Court and is now with the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division 1.

Associate attorneys to join the firm, in order, were Larissa L. Chan, Erin M. Blower, Anton B. Cauthorn, Carry R. Porter, and Kelli A. Carson.

The general emphasis of the firm's practice has remained unchanged over the past 60 years. We continue to represent individuals, businesses and families in the same spirit of integrity established by our founding members. Favoring proactive planning and sensible, long-term solutions, we hope that we can be of service to you.
