The law firm of Schnipper, Britton & Stobaugh was originally established by James Bussey Wood and George Washington Murphy in Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1875. The firm has been in continuous practice in Hot Springs since that date. The firm and its following members have continuously enjoyed a reputation of practicing the best possible law consistent with the Rules of Professional Conduct. The firm has produced three Judges, the last of which was the late Chancery/Probate Judge, James W. Chesnutt.
