Ms. Dean began her own law firm to provide a different kind of legal experience for her clients. She is committed to providing excellent legal work in the context of a caring environment.
Ms. Dean's professional experience encompasses a broad range of legal matters. Her primary emphasis is civil appeals, estate planning, elder law, and probate. Ms. Dean's legal expertise in civil appeals includes both advising trial attorneys at the trial court level and handling all aspects of the appeal. Her primary emphasis is in insurance, business related matters and family law appeals. She has successfully argued in federal and state courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, on behalf of a major insurance company, corporations, and individuals.
Her estate planning practice involves complex tax-planned trusts and wills. She also enjoys working with special needs families and the elderly to address their Medicaid concerns, creating specialized trusts, including special needs trusts and Miller Trusts, to assist them in qualifying for governmental benefits. She compassionately guides families through the probate process to ease their burden during the difficult time of losing a loved one.
Throughout her career, Ms. Dean has handled other civil matters as well, such as complex commercial litigation, multi-million dollar corporate buy-outs and mergers, employment and business contracts, consumer issues, family law litigation, adoptions, real estate transactions and personal injury litigation.
Ms. Dean is currently on the Executive Committee of the Senior Trust SR Alliance and has been serving in this capacity since its inception in 2008, assisting in the formation of the organization. Ms. Dean previously served as the Treasurer of the American Business Women's Association from 2009-2010, and on the Board of Directors for Camp Peniel, including a tenure as Secretary for the Board. Ms. Dean has enjoyed short-term missions trips, serving on the Missions Committee at her church and directing the Missions Conference in 2000.
