About this firm

The Howley Law Firm was founded to provide individuals with the same level of legal skills, expertise, and aggressive advocacy that other law firms provide to multinational corporations.

Our founder, John Howley, Esq., has almost 30 years of experience in some of the largest and most important employment cases in modern history. These include the $80 million class action against Sodexho Marriott, the $115 million class action against Texaco Inc., and the labor arbitration that awarded New York City police officers higher raises than firefighters for the first time in 100 years. Equally important are the hundreds of cases we have handled that did not make the newspapers, but that resulted in justice and significant financial awards for our individual clients.

We use that experience to provide you with aggressive advocacy in the following practice areas:

Sexual Harassment and Hostile Work Environment: You have the right to be free from sexual harassment in the workplace and on campus. When your employer or college fails to provide such an environment, the law gives you the right to demand action and recover significant damages. We fight every day to protect our clients from sexual harassment and a hostile work environment caused by inappropriate comments, unequal treatment, unwanted sexual advances, and other outrageous conduct.

Employment Discrimination: Some employers and their managers still engage in unlawful discrimination based on race, religion, gender, national origin, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and other impermissible factors. This often results in unequal treatment in wages, promotions, job assignments, and career advancement. At The Howley Law Firm, we use our experience, skills, and knowledge of the law to help you fight back, achieve justice, and collect compensation for your financial and emotional injuries.

Wrongful Termination and Retaliation: While New York is called an “employment-at-will” state, that does not mean that you have no rights. Your employer may not fire you for an illegal reason, nor may they retaliate against you for exercising your legal rights. We help you get the compensation and justice you deserve when employers terminate or retaliate against you in violation of the law.

Unpaid Wages and Overtime: Too many employers cheat their employees by not paying the proper regular and overtime compensation rates, or by simply not paying the full amount of wages, tips, and other compensation the law requires. At The Howley Law Firm, we represent employees in individual cases and in class actions to force employers to pay back the wages they stole, plus penalties, interest, and attorneys’ fees.

Whistleblower Rewards and Protections: Whistleblowers are entitled to financial rewards and legal protections for reporting Medicare and Medicaid fraud, securities fraud, and other types of fraud, waste, and abuse of government programs. John Howley, Esq. is recognized as one of the leading whistleblower lawyers by some of the best trial lawyers in the country who have retained him to help them with their whistleblower cases, and by the lawyers who take his Continuing Legal Education courses to learn how to handle whistleblower cases. Let us help you get the whistleblower rewards and legal protections you deserve.

No Attorneys’ Fees Unless You Win: We represent clients on a contingency fee basis. This means that you will not pay us any attorneys’ fees unless you win.

Get Started with a Free and Confidential Consultation: Do you have a strong case? The only way to find out is to speak with an experienced lawyer. Call us today and arrange to speak with our founder, John Howley, Esq., personally about the details of your case and how we can help you.
