Tobin left the Homicide Task Force of the Cook County Public Defender's Office for private practice. He was joined by the late Hon. Robert J. Collins. Judge Collins was a well-respected jurist the Chicago Tribune called 'the standard by which all other judges are to be measured.' Mr. Tobin has guided clients through cases which attracted intense media coverage. Mr. Tobin's peers have consistently voted him to the publications "Illinois Super Lawyers" and "Best Lawyers in America." Tomas Petkus, who joined the firm in 1995, pioneered the adaptation of computer technology to the practice of law. Mr. Petkus was instrumental in the development and use of computers and digital technology at trial. The firm is widely known for its trial expertise and the use of technology to enhance those skills. George Muñoz served in President Clinton's cabinet from 1993 to 1997 as Assistant Treasury Secretary and Chief Financial Officer of the U.S. Treasury Department. He was president and C.E.O. of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, an independent Federal agency facilitating U.S. investments in developing countries from 1997-2001. Mr. Muñoz was formerly president of the Chicago Board of Education (1984-1987). Mr. Muñoz became of counsel to the firm in 2001 and a partner in 2003. Mr. Muñoz' unique expertise has allowed the firm to expand its national and international business consultation and litigation practice. All litigators have extensive trial experience on substantial cases. The firm concentrates its practice in the areas of complex civil litigation, white collar criminal representation, national and international business representation and transactions.
