David Stratton, Q.C. is a senior partner at the firm. His practice in the area of corporate/commercial law emphasizes mergers and acquisitions, complex commercial matters and disputes, and partnership and shareholder relationships and disputes.
David also practises in the area of pension and benefit trust law, where he acts for, and provides comprehensive advice to, the sponsors, governing bodies and administrators of pension and other forms of benefit plans.
David has extensive experience in providing strategic advice and opinions to builders and owners, secured lenders, businesses and individuals, and others in construction matters, secured lending, corporate restructuring, and general commercial matters.
David is one of the contributing authors to both the O'Brien's Encyclopedia of Forms: Commercial and General, Division I series (sales chapter) and the O'Brien's - Corporations, Division II series (Alberta). These comprehensive collections of forms and precedents are now in their 11th edition.

•Acted for Sprott Resource Lending Partnership in a non-revolving secured $140 million credit facility to Altius Minerals Corp. to fund its acquisition of coal and potash royalties from Prairie Mines & Royalty Ltd.
•Quebec counsel for the guarantor with respect to an increase in a Revolving Credit Agreement by $100 million (US) to an overall limit of $225 million (US) and an increase in a Term Loan facility of $19.5 million (US) to an overall amount of $130 million (US) granted by HSBC to a mining company.
•Acted for Capital City Link General Partnership on the Northeast Anthony Henday Drive Project, a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the government of Alberta, to design, build, finance and operate the northeast leg of the Edmonton Ring Road.
•Counsel to EGRT Construction and two of its key subcontractors, SNC-Lavalin Constructors (Pacific) Inc. and SNC-Lavalin Constructors (Western) Inc., on the financial close of the $889 million design, build, finance contract for the construction of the Evergreen Line Rapid Transit Project.
