Background
David Surat is a partner in our Toronto office. David graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 1997 and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1999. He also obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Physics from McMaster University in 1991 and a Masters of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1994.
David was previously Senior Legal Counsel with the Ontario Securities Commission as a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Team and the Corporate Finance Branch.

David is a member of the Securities and Capital Markets Group and his practice is focused primarily on Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance.
Professional Experience
David advises on a wide range of securities and corporate transactions, including public offerings, private placements and mergers & acquisitions. David also has experience advising Canadian and foreign public companies, investment banks, fund managers and institutional investors regarding the interpretation of, and compliance with, securities and regulatory requirements.
