Biography

Alexandra Cervantes is a distinguished medical malpractice attorney in New Mexico who champions the rights of patients and their families during their most vulnerable times. Over the past year, she has secured over $30 million in jury verdicts, holding healthcare providers accountable for severe and life-changing injuries. Originally intending to pursue a medical career, Alex's experiences in medical school exposed her to systemic failures in healthcare, inspiring her to transition to law to advocate for patients on a wider scale. An academic standout, she graduated first in her class and clerked for the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Currently, she imparts her knowledge by teaching evidence at the University of New Mexico School of Law. Known for her meticulous preparation and strong command of both medicine and law, Alex excels in trial advocacy. Beyond her legal career, she volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children and leads as president of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Foundation. Deeply committed to the people of New Mexico, Alex's mission is to protect, support, and advocate for those most in need, whether in the courtroom or the community.
