Connie H. King started the Law Firm of Connie H. King, LLC in 2006. Her primary practice emphasis is on environmental law. Ms. King has over 20 years of experience working with clients involved in environmental permitting, regulatory enforcement and environmental remediation. Since 1990, Ms. King has represented a number of corporations and governmental entities in matters arising under federal and state environmental laws. She has extensive experience with federal and state regulatory agencies in Colorado. Ms. King served as a Commissioner on the Colorado Water Quality Control Commission from 1988 to 1995 and chaired the Commission from 1993 to 1994. She served as a Board Member on the Colorado Plant Operators Certification Board from 1988 to 1991. Prior to 2006, Ms. King was a partner in the law firm of Merrill, Anderson, King and Harris, LLC; a Senior Attorney with Colorado Interstate Gas Company; Of Counsel with James L. Merrill, Attorneys at Law; and an Associate Attorney with Holland & Hart. Prior to practicing law, Ms. King was an environmental engineer with Exxon for 6 years and Eastman Kodak for 7 years. She is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado and Texas. As an environmental attorney and engineer, Ms. King has spoken extensively on environmental and ethical issues. She chaired the NSPE-CO-Pikes Peak Chapter Ethics Contest Committee that won the 2005 NSPE Milton F. Lunch Ethics Contest; was selected as one of the Dynamic Women 2001 by the Colorado Springs Business Journal; was elected to the national Society of Women Engineers College of Fellows; was a member of the Civil Engineering Advisory Council of Texas Tech University and was elected to the Civil Engineering Academy of Texas Tech University. Ms. King was initiated as a member of Phi Delta Phi and received American Jurisprudence Awards for excellent achievement in the study of Legislation and Legal Profession at the University of Denver College of Law.
