Biography

Danielle Hughes is Of Counsel in the Red Bank, NJ office of Hall Booth Smith, P.C., and focuses her practice on general liability, premises liability, appellate and professional malpractice. She brings a strategic, client-focused approach to each matter and is committed to achieving favorable results for her clients.

She began her legal career litigating in New York City before relocating to New Jersey. For over 14 years, she practiced with a local firm handling a wide range of general liability matters. During her tenure, she litigated numerous cases from inception through resolution and argued a landmark premises liability case- J.H. v. R&M Tagliareni, 239 N.J. 198 (2019) -before the New Jersey Supreme Court. Danielle also has experience in insurance defense, premises liability, professional malpractice, motor vehicle claims, contract disputes, and insurance coverage issues. She is skilled in risk analysis, risk transfer strategies, and negotiation of settlement agreements.

Most recently, Danielle served as senior counsel at a law firm, where she led the firm’s Reputation Management and Privacy Solutions Practice. Her work concentrated on criminal and civil expungements, online content removal, name changes, and privacy rights. She was instrumental in expanding the firm’s reach into New York State for record sealing and certificates of relief and developed the firm’s clemency practice. She managed complex cases from inception through appeal, appearing before the Appellate Division and the New Jersey Supreme Court.

Originally from Yonkers, New York, Danielle earned her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Pace University School of Law. While at Pace, she was a Dean’s Scholar, a member of the Pace Law Review, and received a merit scholarship. She completed her undergraduate education at the College of William and Mary, where she served as captain of the Women’s Rowing Team.
