Biography

Admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1998, David Seiter brings over two decades of multifaceted legal experience to Riley Cate, LLC. David's career is defined by a unique blend of fourteen years in private practice and three and a half years as a judicial officer in Marion County. He has focused on major felony trials and appellate advocacy, notably arguing before the Indiana Supreme Court three times. This was a rare achievement that helped shape state laws regarding OWI and habitual traffic offenses. Parallel to his legal practice, David served twenty-five years in the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring as a field grade officer. His service included a JAG deployment to Iraq, where he earned a Bronze Star for humanitarian efforts and strategic negotiations. Beyond the courtroom, David is passionate about education, serving as an adjunct professor at IUPUI teaching substantive criminal law. He is a graduate of Western Michigan University and the IU McKinney School of Law. Today, David focuses his practice on the Indianapolis and Hamilton County areas, combining his extensive judicial perspective with a deep-seated commitment to justice. Whether navigating complex litigation or mentoring students, he remains dedicated to excellence and community service.
