Biography

While in Law School, Deborah worked as a law clerk for Lawlor & Caulfield, an insurance defense firm. It was here that she gained training and experience in the way personal injury cases are fought - from a defendant's perspective. This point of view has been a valuable asset to her in her legal career.

Since joining Bonina & Bonina in 1988, Deborah has played an important role in the general liability division. She is admitted to practice law in both State and Federal Courts, and is responsible for handling general liability cases, including premises, sidewalk, negligent supervision and other actions against the City of New York. She is deeply motivated and dedicated to protecting and helping seriously injured people.

Deborah's dedication to helping her clients lead to success in a noteworthy decision in a case where she represented a seriously injured chef in a nursing home. He lost the tips of several fingers in a defective slicing attachment on a commercial mixer. The manufacturer of the mixer was held responsible for the defect in the attachment even though it was made by another company.

Deborah is a member of several bar associations, including the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Brooklyn Bar Association, The Bay Ridge Lawyers Association and the Columbian Lawyers Association.
