Thompson divides his practice among family law matters, criminal defense, and
personal injury and wrongful death litigation. Located in Lexington, Kentucky,
he provides representation to clients throughout the area, including residents
of Fayette, Bourbon, Jessamine, Scott, Madison and Woodford counties. Admitted
to practice in both Kentucky and New York, Mr. Thompson is also admitted to
practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
In his family law practice, Mr. Thompson provides advice and
counsel to people who are facing marriage dissolution and dealing with divorce-related
issues as property division, child custody and support, and alimony. In addition to advocating on their behalf in
court, Mr. Thompson often helps his clients reach an accord on some of these

establishment, grandparents' rights, adoptions, and the obtaining of protective

Mr. Thompson's criminal defense experience includes driving
under the influence of alcohol; sex offenses; drug possession and distribution;
violent crimes such as assault, homicide and manslaughter; and fraud and
identity theft. In his personal injury and wrongful death practice, he assists
people who have been harmed by the negligence of other parties in cases
involving motor vehicle accidents and premises liability.
Majoring in Accounting, Mr. Thompson attended Western Kentucky University and he received his bachelor's degree in 1994. He obtained his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1998. He is a member of the Fayette County Bar Association.
