Evan M Janush

Evan M. Janush is the Managing Attorney of the New York office. In addition to his administrative role within the firm, Mr. Janush oversees commercial litigation for The Lanier Law Firm’s New York office and he is the practice group leader of the firm’s employment litigation practice. Mr. Janush has significant experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation, pharmaceutical mass tort litigation, antitrust and class-action litigation, and representing employees in discrimination and whistleblower actions.

Mr. Janush was recently named as a Super Lawyers™ Rising Star in the New York Metro area for his work in the firm’s pharmaceutical and product liability mass tort practice areas. Mr. Janush has participated in senior roles in numerous multi-district litigations, and he has represented the rights of individuals who have been injured by defective products, toxic torts, and general negligence. Mr. Janush is also a member of the firm’s Sports and Entertainment practice area due to his significant contract drafting and litigation experience, which includes having been involved in contract litigation concerning several major record label disputes.

Mr. Janush’s work has involved significant appeals, legal motions and oral arguments that have supported trial verdicts in excess of $450 million, in addition to achieving numerous multi-million-dollar settlements. In 2010, Mr. Janush was honored as one of the Top 100 trial lawyers in New York by the National Trial Lawyers Association, and he received this distinction again in 2011 and 2012. Mr. Janush is a 1998 graduate of Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and President of the Student Bar Association. He received his undergraduate degree summa cum laude in 1995 from the University of Connecticut where he was the President of the Student Government Association at the Stamford campus. Prior to joining The Lanier Law Firm, Mr. Janush practiced law at the firms of Weitz & Luxenberg and Jenkens & Gilchrist Parker Chapin.

Mr. Janush is licensed to practice law in New York and Connecticut, and he is admitted to practice in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, District of Connecticut, Eastern District of Michigan, Northern District of Illinois, Eastern District of Texas, and the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas. Mr. Janush has been granted pro hac vice admission to the District of New Jersey, the New Jersey Appellate Division, and the New Jersey Superior Court.

Mr. Janush is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA). He currently resides in Westchester County, New York, with his wife and their three daughters.
