Biography

Mr. Schultz is very active in the legal profession locally, state-wide, and nationally. He is frequently asked to serve in leadership positions in the various organizations that he is involved with. Currently, Mr. Schultz is the past president of the Monroe County (Bloomington, Indiana) Bar Association. He is also a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, where he serves as a member of the House of Delegates, and a member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, where he serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. Mr. Schultz is also a member of the American Association for Justice, where he is a past member of the Board of Governors, and still serves on several committees. Mr. Schultz is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is board certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

The Max Goodwin Award is named after a former President of ITLA and is given each year to an Indiana Trial Lawyer in practice less than ten years who has achieved either a great verdict on behalf of a client, advanced Indiana law in a positive direction for Indiana Consumers, or provided a great deal of community service; F. Scott Baldwin Award from the American Association for Justice. The award is named after Scott Baldwin from Marshall, Texas, one of the greatest Trial Lawyers in America. The award is given each year to "the most outstanding young trial lawyer in America;" past president of the Monroe County Bar Association; member of the Indiana State Bar Association, where he serves on the Board of Directors (2004-present) and the Executive Committee (2011-present); 2011 to Present Fred was voted by his peers to serve on the Executive Committee of ITLA; member of the American Association for Justice, where he is a past member of the Board of Governors, and still serves on several committees; Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is board certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy; Named a Super Lawyer for 2008 to Present by Law & Politics Magazine, and the publishers of Indianapolis Monthly. The Super Lawyer award is given out only after an extensive peer review and screening process of all the lawyers in Indiana and is bestowed upon those attorneys who are considered to be among the top five percent of all lawyers in Indiana; 2013 to Present Best Lawyers in America; 2012 Graduated from the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College.
