Biography

Frederick H. Reeder is an Associate Attorney in Cummings & Lockwood’s Private Clients Group and the Fiduciary and Probate Litigation Group and is based in the firm’s West Hartford office.

Fred focuses his practice on complex fiduciary litigation and probate controversy. He also prepares a broad range of estate planning documents for individuals and families, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, and living wills to reduce tax liability and protect his client’s assets and legacies. He also assists clients with the estate and probate administration process.

Prior to joining Cummings & Lockwood Fred served as an FBI Special Agent for over 21 years before retiring in 2024. During his tenure at the FBI he investigated criminal and national security matters and was decorated with the FBI Shield of Bravery and the Combat Theater Award. Fred also serves as a Judge Advocates General (JAG) officer in the US Army Reserve where he represents service members accused of misconduct.
