Biography

Ian W. MacLean has practiced trusts and estates law for 26 of the 32 years he has been practicing law. He focuses his practice on representing, advocating for, counseling, and helping clients in all aspects of trusts and estates law, including estate planning, probate, estate administration, trust administration, estate and trust accountings, fiduciary taxes, estate, trust, and fiduciary litigation and including contested probate, will contests, removal of fiduciaries, capacity challenges, undue influence cases, powers of attorney, discovery and turnover, all other types of miscellaneous proceedings, guardianship matters, and fiduciary tax compliance. This work often involves business law, real property law, and matrimonial and family law issues. He also represents clients in mediation and other types of negotiation and alternative dispute resolution when appropriate to the client's goals and desires.
