Biography

J. Spencer Fair is special counsel in the Knoxville office of Lewis Thomason. He focuses his practice on healthcare law, professional liability, and general civil litigation. He has extensive experience representing physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, and long-term care facilities through all phases of civil litigation in both state and federal courts in Tennessee and Kentucky, up to and including trial.

In addition to his experience in private practice, he also previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee, representing the United States, federal agencies, and federal employees in civil defense throughout the district.
