Biography

James has tried more than 60 jury cases to verdict as first-chair trial counsel, beginning his career as a prosecutor. He is Founder and Managing Partner of Woods Lonergan and a New York Commercial Division trial lawyer who resolves complex commercial and real estate disputes valued at $1M to $100M+ for business owners, principals, and middle-market enterprises across the New York metro area.

James personally leads the firm's commercial litigation, real estate, and shareholder and fiduciary disputes, and is retained when a matter has stalled or is beyond budget without resolution in sight. Because every matter is prepared for trial from the outset, most resolve before one. He also counsels and litigates for cooperative and condominium boards across the New York metro area.
