Biography

Jennifer J. May-Brust is Of Counsel in our Rogers office and focuses her practice on commercial transactions, real estate, construction and design, regulatory compliance programs, corporate governance, and international business. Over her almost thirty-year career supporting (or running) business functions in-house, she has developed a balanced, risk-based approach to mitigating legal risks while keeping the businesses moving forward.

After working for ten years in the oil pipeline transportation industry, where she focused on FERC and DOT compliance and business development, Jennifer moved to Walmart in 2004. There, she served in attorney, vice president, and general counsel roles for over 18 years. She built broad experience supporting the Walmart US Real Estate program, focusing on myriad commercial contracts, construction and design, real estate transactions, land entitlement, and building effective regulatory compliance programs.

Throughout her career, Jennifer has been passionate about helping the business succeed, which included working closely with operations teams, where she learned the complexities of providing compliance and legal support to the field. Jennifer also has experience working with international business, collaborating across borders to ensure compliance with the law, implement governance, establish best practices, and grow the business.

Jennifer earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she was a member of the American Inns of Court for the Washington County Arkansas chapter. She also earned her Master of Business Administration, cum laude, from John Brown University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
