Biography

Joel M. “Jack” Grist is an associate in Hall Booth Smith’s Atlanta office, where he practices in a variety of areas, including construction, general liability, premises liability, products liability, transportation, and insurance coverage. He is a registered neutral in the State of Georgia and has mediated over 100 disputes between landlords and tenants.

Jack gained valuable experience serving as a law clerk in the Fulton County Solicitor General’s Office, where he collaborated with lead attorneys to formulate trial strategies and provided feedback throughout proceedings. During law school, he also clerked at a local law firm, representing a variety of clients, including motor carriers, insurance companies, and medical professionals. Additionally, he had the honor of serving as a graduate research assistant for two different Deans of Georgia State University College of Law.

Jack earned his Juris Doctor, with honors, from Georgia State University, where he was a member of the mock trial team. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Economics, with a certificate in Entrepreneurship, from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.
