Mr. Davidson in recent years discharged a client when a lawyer in his firm, Rob Bell, a member of the House of Delegates, told him that, for political reasons relating to the fact that Mr. Davidson's client was a member of a same-sex couple , he would withdraw from the firm if Mr. Davidson continued to represent the client. The case at that stage was on appeal to the Circuit Court, his client having prevailed in the J&DR Court. Mr. Davidson continues to practice with Mr. Bell.
