Joe Kopacz was raised in Pensacola, Florida, and attended St. Leo University where he was a member of the Men’s Soccer Team on an athletic scholarship. In 2007, Mr. Kopacz received his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Toledo College of Law. Before entering law school, Mr. Kopacz received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of West Florida.
Before joining Morgan & Morgan, he worked at two prestigious Civil Trial Firms located in Pensacola, Florida, and Tampa, Florida. During the early years of his legal career, he defended numerous large insurance companies and those they insured in a variety of civil claims, including: auto accidents, tractor-trailer accidents, motorcycle accidents, negligent security, slip and fall accidents, wrongful death, construction site accidents, and construction defect litigation. Having represented large insurance companies for many years, Mr. Kopacz understands how insurance companies defend and evaluate injury cases. He uses his intimate knowledge of the insurance industry to help his clients who suffered serious personal injuries at the hands of someone else’s negligent conduct.
Mr. Kopacz has tried many cases in front of juries across the State of Florida and has several published appellate decisions. He has argued in front of the First District Court of Appeal, Second District Court of Appeal, Fourth District Court of Appeal and the Fifth District Court of Appeal.
Mr. Kopacz has been honored with the prestigious “AV Rating” by Martindale-Hubbell, the preeminent national publication in the legal field. This rating is based upon evaluations by other lawyers and is the highest ranking attainable by an attorney for ability and ethics in the practice of law. It is a distinction reserved for a select few in the legal community. Mr. Kopacz is also Board Certified in Construction Law.
Mr. Kopacz and his wife Andrea have one child - Kate - and reside in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
