Biography

Joe Stott is a Martindale-Hubbell PREEMINENT A-V rated litigation attorney with over 22 years of experience practicing in civil defense, with a focus on professional liability, premises liability, and employment practices liability, as well as general civil litigation.

A seasoned trial attorney, Joe has tried more than 50 cases to verdict, including both state and federal courts, jury and non-jury, as well as numerous arbitration proceedings.

Joe has represented more than 150 attorneys and law firms in Alabama and surrounding states. He has also represented dozens of accountants and accounting practices, physicians and medical practices, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, and many other professionals.

Joe also has a strong background in premises liability, having represented numerous large corporations and retailers as well as small and medium sized businesses. Premises liability has been a regular aspect of Joe's practice for more than 20 years, with numerous jury trials in this area.

Joe is also experienced in employment practices defense, providing both litigation and consultation support to dozens of businesses and insurance companies. Joe also handles most types of general civil litigation, representing corporations and insurance companies throughout the state of Alabama.

Joe has also successfully handled numerous appeals in both state and federal appellate courts, with an exemplary track record.
