Julie Hill

Julie earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management from Texas A&M University, where she participated in college rodeos in event barrel racing and served as an officer for the rodeo team.

Formerly a summer associate with HBS, Julie served as an intern for U.S. Congressman Rick Crawford and assisted veterans with the status of their disability claims in the Department of Veterans Affairs. Additionally, she externed at the Arkansas Department of Agriculture and observed administrative law proceedings. She also clerked for the Public Protection Department of the Office of the Arkansas Attorney General and the Lonoke County Prosecutor’s Office.

Federal Court Blocks Controversial Corporate Transparency Act

On December 3, 2024, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas issued a landmark decision enjoining the enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA). In Texas Top Cop Shop, Inc. et al. v. Garland et al., the court held that the CTA, which requires extensive disclosure of beneficial ownership information, likely exceeds Congress’s constitutional authority. The ruling prevents implementation of the Act and its accompanying regulations nationwide, and corporate finance teams that were feverishly working to meet the January 1, 2025 compliance date can enjoy a moment of respite.
