Biography

Kassie L. Donnelly is a partner in the firm’s Denver office. She brings nearly three decades of experience advising individuals, professionals, and businesses across a broad range of complex legal matters, with a practice that integrates litigation, transactional counseling, and alternative dispute resolution.

Kassie’s work spans the full lifecycle of legal issues faced by her clients, from strategic planning and contract negotiation to dispute resolution through arbitration, mediation, and litigation. Her practice includes significant experience handling medical malpractice matters, advising aging services providers and healthcare organizations, and representing clients in complex corporate and business transactions. She also counsels clients across a wide range of industries, including real estate, professional services, and energy, with particular experience advising oil and gas companies on transactional, regulatory, and operational matters. This breadth allows her to deliver practical, business-minded solutions tailored to each client’s objectives.

Prior to joining Hall Booth Smith, Kassie held senior in-house and leadership roles, including serving as general counsel for a national healthcare management company and for a Fortune 200 international energy company. In these roles, she partnered closely with executive leadership on high-level legal, regulatory, and risk management issues, managed complex transactions, and oversaw significant litigation and compliance matters. She has also practiced in private law firm settings, representing clients in high-stakes civil litigation, healthcare-related disputes, and complex commercial matters.

Earlier in her career, Kassie interned for U.S. Senator Hank Brown in Washington, D.C., where she gained exposure to federal legislative processes and public policy considerations that continue to inform her strategic approach to client representation.

Kassie is a certified mediator and brings a balanced, solution-oriented perspective to her practice. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law and holds an Executive MBA from Boston University. Kassie received her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado.
