Hobbies & interests:
Kirk is the secretary of the City of Pittsburgh Planning Commission, a nine member panel appointed by the Mayor which helps determine how land around the city will be utilized. The Commission makes recommendations to the City Council about zoning ordinances, development proposals and assists in the preparation of redevelopment plans. He is also a member of the City of Pittsburgh Zoning Board Adjustment, a three member panel appointed by the Mayor. In his spare time, he coaches for the Pittsburgh Predators Ice Hockey Club and is a board member and development chair of the Central North Side Neighborhood Council.
