Biography

Marc E. Chapdelaine is a trusted Massachusetts trial attorney serving Winthrop, Boston, and the North Shore for more than two decades. He represents clients in civil litigation, criminal defense, personal injury, fiduciary and probate litigation, catastrophic injury matters, and estate planning, offering experienced, steady guidance during some of life’s most challenging moments.

A lifelong Massachusetts resident, Attorney Chapdelaine earned his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and has been practicing in Massachusetts courts since 2002. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, giving him the ability to represent clients in both state and federal matters. Clients appreciate his practical approach, his attention to detail, and his commitment to clear, honest communication.

In 2023, he partnered with longtime colleague Tim Ryan to form Chapdelaine, Ryan & Associates—an expansion of the law practice he founded in 2006. The firm serves individuals, families, and local businesses across Winthrop, East Boston, Revere, Lynn, Saugus, Salem, Marblehead, Swampscott, and the greater North Shore, providing strong, strategic representation rooted in preparation, integrity, and respect for the people they serve.

Attorney Chapdelaine’s practice is shaped by years of trial experience in both civil and criminal courts. Whether handling a serious injury case, navigating a complex probate dispute, or defending a client facing criminal charges, he brings a calm, measured approach designed to protect his clients’ interests and help them move forward with confidence. His ability to manage high‑stakes situations with clarity and professionalism has earned him the trust of clients throughout the region.

He is also well known within the local legal community. Attorney Chapdelaine serves on the Executive Board of the Greater Lynn Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Essex County Bar Association, contributing to initiatives that strengthen legal resources across the North Shore. He is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an honor awarded to less than 0.5% of American trial attorneys, and a Fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, supporting access to justice statewide.

His work has been recognized by some of the most respected rating organizations in the legal field. He holds the AV Preeminent® Rating from Martindale‑Hubbell®, the highest peer rating for legal ability and ethics, and has earned the Platinum Client Champion Award every year since 2017. He has also been named a New England Super Lawyer annually since 2014, maintains a 10/10 AVVO rating, and has been selected by Boston Magazine as a Top Lawyer in Civil Litigation.

Beyond his law practice, Attorney Chapdelaine is deeply involved in local service organizations. For more than eighteen years, he has been an active member of the Saugus Lions Club, receiving the Melvin Jones Fellowship in recognition of outstanding humanitarian service. He also supports his community through local government, including his appointment to the Winthrop Zoning Board of Appeals in 2023.

Attorney Chapdelaine lives in Winthrop, Massachusetts with his wife and three children. His approach to practicing law remains steady and principled: treat people with respect, prepare thoroughly, act with integrity, and advocate consistently for his clients’ best interests.
