Biography

The Renaissance Man with the Plan.

Anyone getting to know Matthew Altamura quickly realizes that he is quite knowledgeable about...well, just about everything. A self-described 'nerd,' Matt is well-versed in economics, physics, chemistry, engineering, construction, technology, medicine, and more. Once a student with near perfect SAT and LSAT exam scores, Matt double-majored in economics and philosophy at The College of William & Mary, later becoming an economics scholar in Germany while obtaining his J.D. at the George Mason University School of Law. As an attorney, Matt has harnessed his love of learning into an exceptional ability to master each intricacy of his complex cases, and to easily go toe-to-toe with every expert witness he encounters.

These unique talents have served Matt's clients very well over the years. In his eleven-year career, Matt has successfully represented hundreds of injured clients throughout North Carolina, in a wide range of disputes, including auto accidents, workplace injuries, wrongful death, defective products, tractor-trailer accidents, moped and motorcycle accidents, pedestrian injuries, hazardous chemical exposure, dangerous premises, sexual assault, and nursing home neglect. He has a proven record of success, obtaining many six-figure monetary awards for his clients, as well as five separate awards worth one million dollars or more, including a 2014 jury verdict of $1.25 million dollars and a 2019 settlement of $5.25 million dollars. Matt is therefore a life-time member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, of which fewer than 1% of U.S. attorneys are members.

Not only smart and successful, Matt is also an extremely nice guy, with a sincere desire to help others. He is well-regarded by his peers and has a proven track record of client satisfaction, evident by his Superb rating on Avvo.com. In addition to helping injured clients, Matt also practices in the areas of criminal defense, family law, and civil litigation, including business and contract disputes.

Matt has yet to find a code he couldn't crack or a legal puzzle he couldn't solve. No matter how insurmountable your legal problem may seem, you can rely on Matt to have a plan!
