Biography

Alex M. Estis joined Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. in 2017 and is a Member with the firm’s Litigation Department. Estis is one of the youngest attorneys in the firm’s 50-year history to be promoted to Member one year after being named as one of the youngest attorneys to be promoted to Of-Counsel.

Estis handles all matters of general commercial litigation, including landlord-tenant disputes, breach of contract, transactional disputes, real estate partnership disputes, brokerage commission actions, holdover proceedings, ejectment proceedings, owner occupancy actions, co-op/condo disputes, matters before the New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, such as the Environmental Control Board and Department of Health as well as the New York City Criminal Court. He also handles commercial leasing negotiations and preparation for landlords, commercial tenants and net lessors.

Estis is known for handling complex litigation and finding creative solutions to issues presented in litigation and for being able to complete creative settlements to solve complicated disputes for his clients.

Estis received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2017, where he was awarded the Brooklyn Law School Pro Bono Award in recognition of his outstanding dedication to Public Service at the New York State Attorney General’s Office. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Studies from Muhlenberg College in 2014.

Prior to joining Rosenberg & Estis, Estis was a Legal Intern with the New York State Attorney General’s office in its Claims Bureau.

Reported Cases:
1. This matter (1,000 6h Gift Shop Inc.) involves a commercial month to month tenant in Manhattan who operates an “I love NY store” who has failed to pay rent. We made a motion by order to show cause seeking use and occupancy to be paid on an interim basis. The interim order by TRO was denied by Supreme Court. We are seeking an appeal which is pending before the First Department to compel the month-to-month tenant to pay use and occupancy on ongoing pending the hearing of the ultimate U&O motion.

2. Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. Secures Eviction Order and Monetary Judgment Against Building Super Who Refused to Leave- Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., currently celebrating its 50th year as one of New York City’s pre-eminent real estate law firms, announced that the firm has successfully secured a $49,500 monetary judgment and an eviction order against a former live-in superintendent at the luxury co-operative building in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Attorneys Alex M. Estis and Ariel S. Bresky represented the Upper East Side co-op, in the action before Justice Arthur F. Engoron in the Supreme Court of the State of New York.

3. 225 East 74th Street Apartments Corporation vs. Skender Rugova - Represented the Plaintiff - Note in Skender we evicted had the tenant evicted by the sheriff and got a money judgment within 2 months of filling the case.

4. West Realty Co LLC vs. Booston LLC - In this Appellate Division decision in Booston in which the Court overturned Supreme Court’s denial of a TRO for use and occupancy.

5. Tuscany Legacy Leasing vs. Tuscany Legacy Leasing Order to Show Cause - A case where we got a judgment by virtue of a TRO within 3 days of commencing the case.
