Biography

Hailing originally from Prattville, Alabama, Hunter Darrell Brown's legal career has taken him on a remarkable path. In 2009, he relocated to Tuscaloosa to study at The University of Alabama. In 2013, Hunter graduated with the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Hunter’s commitment to the law led him to The University of Alabama School of Law, where he honed his legal expertise. Upon graduating from law school in 2016, he embarked on a career in the nation’s capital. In Washington, D.C., Hunter served as Legislative Counsel on the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, working for Senator Jeff Sessions. When Senator Sessions assumed the role of United States Attorney General, Hunter transitioned to a role at the Department of Justice as an Attorney Advisor within the DOJ’s Office of Legislative Affairs.

Returning to Tuscaloosa after his tenure in Washington, Hunter Brown assumed the role of Assistant District Attorney under District Attorney Hays Webb. During this phase, Hunter prosecuted a wide spectrum of criminal cases, ranging from traffic violations and misdemeanors to complex matters involving child sex abuse and even homicide. His experience involves numerous bench and jury trials, showcasing his prowess in the courtroom. Hunter’s private practice now centers primarily on criminal defense, encompassing a wide range of cases, including DUI, MIP, drug offenses, college-related crimes, and serious felony charges, as well as domestic violence cases. Additionally, he handles personal injury claims, auto accidents, and wrongful death cases. Hunter’s legal practice extends across all State and municipal courts in Tuscaloosa County and throughout West Alabama.

An active member of the legal community, Hunter proudly holds membership in the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association and Alabama State Bar Association, is a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorney in the Northern District of Alabama, and Tuscaloosa County Bar Association’s Criminal Committee. He is committed to delivering quality representation to his clients, underpinned by dedication, unwavering character and integrity. Hunter Brown looks ahead with enthusiasm to continue serving the fine residents of Tuscaloosa and West Alabama for many years to come.
