Biography

J.D. Easley is a Partner in the Alpharetta office, practicing in personal injury, general liability, premises liability, and insurance coverage matters. He also represents law firms and attorneys in professional malpractice matters.

Prior to joining HBS, J.D. represented employers and insurers in workers’ compensation cases, handling cases from the trial level to the Georgia Court of Appeals. He also trained business owners and managers to ensure compliance with requirements and anticipated revisions to Georgia workers’ compensation laws.

J.D. previously served as the press secretary for the Georgia House of Representatives for nearly five years. He also worked as the communications director for a congressional campaign and in a congressional office in Washington, D.C.

During law school, J.D. interned with the Gwinnett County Legal Department, where he assisted with cases concerning commercial real estate development, tax assessments, water runoff and waste, blighted/nuisance properties, and local legislation. J.D. also gained valuable experience interning for the American Bar Association’s Ethics & Professionalism Committee. He served on the Georgia State University Law Review and the Logan E. Bleckley Inn of Court. He also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Local Government Law and the American Bar Association Local Government Law Student Scholar Award.

He received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Georgia State University, graduating in the top 10% of his class and earning the highest pro bono distinction. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, cum laude, from Georgia College & State University.
