Biography

James is a Pocatello, Idaho native. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point (’93). After travelling the world as a military intelligence officer in the United States Army, James returned to his home state of Idaho where he graduated from the University of Idaho Law School (’01). James’ service to the State of Idaho began in 2006 when he was elected to the Idaho House of Representatives where he served until 2010. He was elected once again in 2020 and is currently serving on the Agriculture Committee, Judicial and Rules Committee, and the Revenue and Taxation Committee. He is also a Conrad B. Duberstein National Moot Court Competition Winner, past president of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association and the recipient of the Idaho Bar Professionalism Award. James is married and has two children and enjoys Cross-fit, reading and hiking.
