Mr. Jonathan G. Winn

Jonathan G. Winn is a Senior Lead Litigator in the Midvale area offices of Cordell & Cordell, where he practices family law exclusively with a focus on men’s divorce. He also is the chair of an elite team of Cordell Appellate attorneys and regularly travels across the United States.

Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, Mr. Winn started as an intern at the Salt Lake City Prosecution Office where he tried more than 30 criminal cases, with 17 in front of juries. He also interned at Utah Legal Services, handling Landlord/Tenant Law.

Mr. Winn also spent time as a law clerk and later an attorney practicing general law. During this time, he was able to learn the fundamentals of all areas of practice but focused primarily on family law.

In addition, Mr. Winn is Chair of the Cordell Appellate Practice Division, where in addition to specializing in domestic law for fathers and men, he also focuses on appellate work, often assisting other Cordell attorneys nationwide with appeals.

Mr. Winn received the prestigious Top 10 Attorney Award for the State of Utah by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys, (NAFLA) in 2023 and 2022. He received the Top 10 under 40 Attorney Award for the State of Utah by NAFLA in 2021, 2020, and 2019. Mr. Winn was recognizes as one of the Top 40 under 40 for the nation in Matrimonial and Family Law by the National Advocates for 2017.

Mr. Winn was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2014.

Mr. Winn has appeared on KSL NewsRadio and KSL TV News in Salt Lake City discussing fathers’ rights issues.

He is also a regular presenter on the Cordell & Cordell podcasts and Town Halls.

Having spent most of his life in Utah, Mr. Winn understands the unique social, business, and legal community of the state of Utah.

More important than the title of an attorney, is the title of husband and father. Mr. Winn is the father of three boys. When he is not in the office or courtroom, he enjoys spending time at home with his family and serving in his church.

Mr. Winn is an active Scouter, and currently serves as the Scoutmaster of a local Boy Scout Troop which he co-founded in 2019.
