Biography

Kevin Pillion is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA®), certified by the National Elder Law Foundation, the only organization accredited by the American Bar Association to award certification in elder law.

Kevin is the Founder of Life Planning Law Firm in Sarasota County, Florida, with offices located in downtown Sarasota and North Port. He earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and has been practicing law since 1990.

He is a member of The Florida Bar and is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Elder Law Foundation, the Florida Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association, and the Veterans Benefits Committee of the Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar. Kevin is also accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs and is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Washington, D.C.

Early in his career, he worked with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. following law school. He also worked with Steven Winkelman, a prominent estate planning attorney and former adjunct professor of estate planning at Georgetown University Law Center.

In 2003, Kevin made the personal decision to reduce his workload in order to help care for his elderly parents, dividing his time between Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Bradenton, Florida. After their passing in 2008, he permanently relocated to Sarasota, Florida, where he continues to dedicate his practice to serving seniors, families, and individuals planning for the future.

Attorney Kevin Pillion received his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center and has been practicing law since 1990. He is a member of The Florida Bar, American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Florida Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Life Care Planning Law Firms Association, Veterans Benefits Committee of the Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar and he is also Accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Kevin is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Washington, DC.
