Biography

Rocky Brancato has been in the legal trenches for over 25 years, and there isn’t much he hasn’t seen. As the Managing Partner of The Brancato Law Firm, P.A., he’s handled everything from first-time DUIs to high-stakes capital murder cases where a life is literally on the line. What really sets Rocky apart is his time spent as the Chief Operations Officer of the Hillsborough County Public Defender’s Office. Even while managing over 100 lawyers, he stayed in the courtroom, trying the toughest homicide and sex crime cases. He’s also "death-qualified," a status reserved for the most elite defense attorneys. Unlike many defense lawyers who started as prosecutors, Rocky has been a protector of the accused his entire career. He even spent time as a police academy instructor, teaching officers about criminal procedure. This means when he’s cross-examining an officer, he isn't guessing what their training was, he’s the one who gave it.
