Biography

The current hard financial times are no mystery to anyone. Foreclosure abuses, predatory lending, bank fees, loan modification scams, and all kinds of banking fraud have exploded. And there are also the life-changing events of huge medical bills, divorce, business failure, and job loss. All of us want to honor our commitments, but remember that the banks and credit card companies have no such moral character. They will use every opportunity to overcharge you with overdraft fees, account fees, bank fees, and anything else they can dream up to take your money. The seek to take advantage of our good faith, and the financial industry mocks us by calling us "debt hampsters." They want to put you on hampster wheel of debt where no matter how much you pay, you will still owe.

Bankruptcy is nothing to be ashamed of - it was created as part of the US Constitution at the founding of the country, and is contained in Article 1, Section 8. Bankruptcy is also perhaps the most powerful legal remedy an individual can use. It automatically stops collections lawsuits, foreclosures, wage garnishments, repossessions, and bank levies. And the discharge of debt gives you the opportunity for a fresh start. For that reason, we use bankruptcy strategically rather than as a last resort, taking the time to work with each of our clients on an individual basis so that they get the maximum benefit from this fundamental right.
