Biography

Tyler Fisher is a Partner in the Atlanta office, and specializes in professional negligence and medical malpractice matters. His primary focus is representing physicians, nurses, hospitals, and health systems in medical malpractice lawsuits, and his practice includes representing physicians in administrative matters before the Georgia Composite Medical Board. Tyler also has extensive experience in handling federal Section 1983 actions, as well as general liability cases.

Prior to joining the firm, Tyler began his legal career as a prosecuting attorney in the Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office and the Athens-Clarke County District Attorney’s Office. He tried over 30 first-chair misdemeanor and felony jury trials and gained extensive courtroom and appellate experience over thousands of criminal cases, handling everything from traffic tickets up to malice murder cases. Tyler specialized in driving under the influence (DUI) prosecution and holds certification in advanced impaired driving enforcement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Tyler earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia. As a law student, he was a leader on UGA’s award-winning advocacy program. He won the 2012 Mercer National Legal Ethics Moot Court Competition and the 2010 UGA Talmadge Moot Court Competition. He was named to the Chattahoochee Inn of Court, served on the Mock Trial Executive Board, and was inducted into the National Order of Barristers at graduation. Tyler’s legal education also included a semester abroad at Oxford University.

Tyler lives with his wife and daughter in Roswell, Georgia, where they enjoy spending their fall Saturdays rooting on the Wolverines and Bulldogs.
