Biography

Kristen brings over two decades of legal experience in private practice and public service. Her career reflects a deep commitment to serving the people of North Carolina through thoughtful counsel and zealous advocacy.

Kristen has represented individuals, businesses, and corporations in state and federal courts. She has extensive trial and dispute resolution experience, having successfully tried cases to verdict across North Carolina and obtained favorable outcomes for her clients at mediations and arbitrations. Kristen is known for her strategic approach to litigation and her ability to resolve disputes efficiently while protecting her clients’ interests. Her primary areas of practice include professional liability, products liability, premises liability, construction law, and business litigation.

Before returning to private practice, Kristen dedicated more than 10 years to public service at the North Carolina General Assembly, where she served as a non-partisan legislative analyst and staff attorney. In that role, she provided legal guidance to all 170 members of the legislature and staffed numerous Senate and House committees, gaining a unique perspective on the intersection of law, policy, and governance.

Kristen earned her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law. Before law school, she completed the Radcliffe Publishing Course in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and worked in the publishing industry in New York City. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Women’s Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
