Biography

A graduate of Yale College and a Law Review graduate of the Hofstra University School of Law, Neil Cahn has practiced law on Long Island for more than 30 years.

Mr. Cahn's practice is concentrated in divorce and other family law matters. However, his experience with the analysis of business values and other financial matters also leads Mr. Cahn to handle other business, estate and family disputes.

He is a past revision author of Matthew Bender's New York Civil Practice, Matrimonial Actions, Associate Editor of Bard and Marano, New York Medical Malpractice, and founder and publisher of New York Malpractice Law Update. He has written and lectured for various bar associations and professional organizations, as well as other lay groups.

Mr. Cahn is also admitted in the United States District Courts, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States, and has served as a court-appointed arbitrator for the United States District Court. He is a former member of the Nassau County Supreme Court Matrimonial Neutral Evaluation Panel.

Neil Cahn has been certified in the Collaborative Divorce process by the International Association of Collaborative Professionals, and in Family Mediation by the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and the Mediation Institute of New York. He is a member of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals and of Collaborative Dispute Resolutions, both organizations promoting the interdisciplinary settlement of conflicts using the Collaborative Process.

Mr. Cahn is a member of the Family Law Committees of the American, State, and County Bar Associations; the Dispute Resolution subcommittee of the State Bar Association, and the Commercial Litigation Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association.
