Patrick A. Salvi concentrates his legal practice on cases concerning serious personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and mass torts. Mr. Salvi has achieved record-breaking jury verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients throughout the state, including serving as lead counsel on a trial team that won an Illinois record-high $148 million jury verdict in 2018 and being part of a trial team that won an impressive $241 million jury verdict in 2026.
In 1982, Mr. Salvi founded Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. (originally the law offices of Patrick A. Salvi) in Lake County, Illinois. Today, the firm has more than 20 lawyers and is supported by more than 35 staff members in its Chicago and Waukegan offices, including paralegals, nursing consultants, IT professionals, marketing and public relations personnel, and administrative/legal assistants. Mr. Salvi and his law firm have obtained more than $3.5 billion in verdicts and settlements on behalf of injured clients, including 400 multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements.
Mr. Salvi is one of the most prominent attorneys in the country and has been named to “Best Lawyers” for Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, and Product Liability every year since 2005. His peers have selected him to the Illinois Super Lawyers Top 10 List every year since 2014, and Law Bulletin Media has named him to three “Top Ten” lists every year since 2016. He was inducted into the Lawdragon 500 Hall of Fame in 2021. In 2023, Mr. Salvi received the Illinois Bar Foundation’s “Distinguished Award for Excellence,” honoring his remarkable contributions to the legal community throughout his career.
In 2001, Mr. Salvi was invited to become a fellow in the prestigious International Academy of Trial Lawyers. In 2013, he was appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Jury Instructions in Civil Cases. Mr. Salvi is a former President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and served as Chairman of the Character and Fitness, 2nd District Committee of the Illinois Board of Admissions to the Bar from 2010 to 2012. He is a former Chairman (2011-2023) and current member of the Notre Dame Law School Advisory Council and a former adjunct faculty member at the University of Notre Dame Law School. He currently serves on the American Association for Justice Leaders Forum.
Outside of work, Mr. Salvi enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindy, their five sons, daughters-in-law, and 11 grandchildren. He also enjoys traveling across the globe, especially to his villa in Italy, and spending time with his family at their country home in Woodstock, Illinois.
