Biography

Richard Vargas is a Partner in our Miami office focusing on business litigation, construction, environmental, mass torts, land use, general liability, premises liability, products liability, and transportation matters. He has extensive experience practicing in various areas of civil litigation including: premises liability, negligent security, hospitality services, liquor liability and dram-shop, construction defect, contractual disputes, consumer litigation, and first-party insurance coverage.

He has litigated numerous lawsuits from inception through trial on behalf of recreation centers, restaurants, fast-food establishments, automobile dealerships, hotels, condominium associations, shopping centers, and retail operators across Florida. Richard focuses on representing his clients with the utmost professionalism while providing honest evaluation and zealous counsel.

Prior to joining HBS, Richard acted as lead counsel for a range of insurance carriers and self-insured entities at a local Miami firm. He previously served as in-house counsel for an insurance carrier based out of Birmingham, Michigan, where he managed general liability and first-party property claims across Florida.

Richard earned his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University and his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from the University of Florida.
