I believe community service is a duty for people who have the time and energy. I served on the Hillsboro School Board Bond review committee contributing my knowledge about constructing and financing to better our schools. I was Board member of the Hillsboro Library Foundation, which is committed to supporting literacy and libraries, and which raised one million dollars recently to help fund the new Hillsboro main library. I'm a former member of the Washington County Juvenile Crime Prevention Committee, the Hillsboro Library Board (including two years as its chairperson), Commissioner for the Washington County Commission on Children and Families, and Board member of the Clark County Washington Head Start. I'm also a sports fan with season tickets to the Timbers, Blazers, Hops and Huskies.
